This policy explains how The UKSI uses cookies and similar browser storage on theuksi.com. Cookies are small pieces of information stored on your device. We use some to provide the website and remember your choices. Optional services only run after you agree to the relevant category.
Your choices
On your first visit, you can accept all cookies, reject optional cookies or choose individual categories. Optional categories are off by default. Closing the settings window, scrolling or continuing to browse does not give consent. Rejecting optional cookies does not prevent you from browsing the website.
Use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page to change or withdraw consent. We remember your choices for 180 days, unless you clear your browser cookies first. We will ask again when that choice expires or our consent categories change. When you withdraw consent, we stop the relevant service, remove its UKSI cookies and storage where we can, and refresh the page to unload it. Please copy any unfinished form message first.
Essential cookies
These are needed to remember your cookie choices, protect the website and provide engineering sign-in when you use that service. They do not depend on optional consent.
Analytics — optional
If you allow analytics, we use PostHog to understand visits and how people navigate the site. It can process a browser identifier, pages visited, referring pages, device/browser information and network information. This helps us understand and improve the website. We use PostHog's EU service. Session recording and automatic collection of form contents are disabled.
PostHog does not start or send analytics requests when you have not consented or have rejected analytics. We do not use Google Analytics, advertising cookies or remarketing tags on this website. Older Google Analytics cookies, if present from a previous version, are removed when this website loads. Read PostHog's privacy information.
Contact form protection — optional
Our contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA v3 to assess whether a submission is likely to be spam. We load it on the contact page only after you allow Contact form protection. Google can process information about your device, browser, network and interactions for this assessment, and use cookies or browser storage such as _GRECAPTCHA. Google controls the expiry of its own cookies and storage.
If you do not allow this category, the online form cannot submit. You can still email enquiries@theuksi.com or call 0330 043 1203. Accepting analytics is not required to use the contact form. See Google's reCAPTCHA cookie information.
Other website services
We use Cloudflare to deliver and protect the website, Sanity to supply website content and images, and external image/font services to display the site. Requests to these services include normal connection information such as your IP address. They are not enabled as optional analytics or advertising tools by this site. The contact form sends your enquiry through Microsoft 365 after verification; that server-side email connection does not set a cookie in your browser.
Browser controls and third-party cookies
You can also delete cookies and manage site storage in your browser settings. This may sign you out of engineering resources or remove your saved cookie choices. UKSI cannot directly delete cookies set on another provider's domain. Withdrawing consent stops us loading that optional service on future pages; use your browser controls to remove any cookies the provider has already stored.
